is his theme, but Rod did an upbeat song once or twice - I think. Another from the RMMGA network, I met Rod at one of our Gatherings and, with his folks still living in Maine, he agreed to come visit. As it happened, his first appearance was with then partner Amanda Shires around Christmas. The world outside the Gallery looked like this:

Fortunately the show was a matinee (we had to cancel Friday night's show at CCLC) so we had a decent turnout. Rod returned solo a couple of years later in summer. Both times his comedic banter - Rod could do well as a stand-up comic - was overly focused on me. I have the recordings (these were pre-video events) but not sure I'll share them. They are pretty funny though.

Visit Rod's web site - http://rodpicott.com/ - and here are some words and promo information from Rod's last newsletter. As with the other musicians featured, I hope you'll support him generously.

Many of you have been incredibly generous in both dropping into the tip jar as well as ordering cds, books and merchandise. Please know how grateful I am.

Many musicians who operate at my level are out of work and are wracking their minds to think of ways to generate income. I’m offering Skype songwriting sessions, song doctoring (which has been very fun), handwritten lyrics and poems and I have a new project as well – private recordings. If you have any questions about any of these projects simply send me an email mail@RodPicott.com

PRIVATE RECORDINGS!
For $150, you can pick 10 songs and I will record, mix and master them just for you
. I will talk to you and only you throughout the recording. All recordings will be one-of-a-kind and recorded for your ears only. I’ll leave in all mistakes, false starts and tell you a bit about some of the songs while I record. These are meant to be personal, not shared publicly. Then you can choose if you want to receive the recording via cd or digitally. There will not be a single repeat performance.

Each ten song set will be unique regardless if someone requests the same songs. Single editions each and every one. All you need to do is send your ten song picks to mail@rodpicott.com with your address and how you want to receive the recording – cd or digitally. Because of the nature of the project these will be limited to 50 editions and the project will end at the end of the year. 15% of all proceeds will be donated to food banks in various cities around the country.

There have been so many kind notes and donations to help get through the passing of my sweet mother. I couldn't possibly properly thank you individually. So thank you. It has meant a great deal to me and has helped with of all the travel, expenses and enabled me to be with my father during this difficult time.

I hope this note finds you well, healthy and not too crazy from the lack of hugs, handshakes and warmth we usually offer each other in hard times…

Your friend,
Rod
