Mother's Day in the Park
Sunday, May 13, 2018, 11:00am - 04:00pm

Contact Fred Pierce - CB Music

We'll celebrate Mother's Day with fun at Stockford Park. Open mic starts at 11 am. Bring an instrument, your voice, dance - whatever you like to do that's legal and join us on stage. We'll also celebrate the completion of Sherry Ashby's wonderful mural, the arrival of Spring (yes - I insist it will be here by then but DO wear appropriate clothing - it gets chilly on the water), and just being alive. We'll have the Maypoles up - some of you participated in the dance we had a few years ago.

At 1 pm, the Field Stones will perform - this is a combination of the Field Guides and the Rockweed Connection - Duane Ingalls et al. They rock, as most of you know.

There are picnic tables, barbecue pits, room for kite flying, horseshoe pits, and of course the most beautiful location anywhere.  It's all free, (well, bring your own barbecue) but donation buckets will be available for the musicians.

Located on the Lubec Narrows, just south of the Franklin Delano Roosevelt International Bridge, the Park is the home of Valerian Jikia's "Beyond the Horizon" - Lubec's stop along the Schoodic International Sculpture Symposium Trail. This beautiful setting features a stage, picnic tables, the Sculpture and a beautiful view of the Bridge and Campobello. At the other end of the park is the stage, which features a mural of Lubec by local artist Sherry Ashby. Summer concerts sponsored by the Lubec Area Musicians Philanthropic Society (LAMPS) and Cobscook Bay Music benefit local charities.
