Ben and Anita are regulars at Cape Breton's "Celtic Colours" festival, an event I attend every chance I get. As it happened, they were starting a U.S. tour with Zakk Cormier and Tysen Chen and what better place to start then Lubec? There was some grumbling about it being late October and starting on an off night and so on, but the first event, a Celeih at the Lubec Brewing Company was packed, with the shephard's pie depleted in the first hour. Workshops in step dancing, fiddle, contradance, a house concert, and a final concert at the Gallery were similarly well-attended, with people coming from as far as Ellsworth. Yes - the kids at school got a concert too, and they love Celtic music!

Visit Ben and Anita's web site for videos and CDs and I hope someday, more tours. And of course, Celtic Colours and Kitchen Fest. Due to COVID-19, Celtic Colours this year will be "at home" with streaming and video. Kitchen Fest is normally in spring/summer but postponed until September this year.

Jason Roach is perhaps best known as the thunderous keyboard guy with Coig, but he's an outstanding visual artist too. Have a look at Outer Strathspace Folk Art for an otherworldly mix of bird-sea-music something. I like it so much I even overlook someone's penchant for referring to various bird species as "seagull."
